Hire Me
I’m a smart, experienced Ruby on Rails and iOS developer. I work freelance: if you’d like to hire me, just send me an email with details of your project. I’ll get back to you inside two working days.
Note: I get a lot of enquiries, and while I can reply within a day or two I will prioritise emails which cover all the points below, including budget. If I know how much money is available for a project, I can quickly tell you whether I’ll be a good fit, which will save us both a lot of time :)
Please take the time to include this helpful information in your email:
- Your name, and where you’re based
- A short description of your project
- Your available budget (a rough figure is fine). Be aware that I do not work for equity.
- Details of any deadlines
- When you want to get started
Email me and I’ll reply within a day or two.
My Skills
- Ruby on Rails (version 1 and above)
- Ruby (1.8, 1.9)

You can see examples of my open source work on Github and read more about me under “About Me”, below.
Privacy & Confidentiality
A lot of my clients come to me with original ideas and are (rightly) concerned about confidentiality. I’ve found that writing, sharing and signing legal agreements can be a bit of a barrier to getting a project off the ground, so to make things easier I have a standard confidential disclosure agreement (CDA or NDA) which is used as follows:
- The CDA automatically applies to any information I share with you.
- In the absence of other agreements, the CDA will also apply to any information you share with me.
If you want to use a different confidentiality agreement for information you share with me, I’ll be happy to consider it.
Legal
If you need to send me your own NDA or other legal agreements, please make them out to: Systems Intelligence Ltd, 29 Silver Street, Colerne, Chippenham, England, SN14 8DY.
About Me
I’m a software developer working with the Ruby language, the Rails framework, and Apple’s iOS platform. I’ve been working with Ruby and Rails for five years and with iOS for about a year. I live in Bath, England and I work with clients worldwide.
I take a pragmatic approach to software development: focus on what needs to be done now, and write good, well-tested code that can adapt to changing demands in the future. I love the process of taking a client’s ideas and turning them into something that doesn’t just work, but works well.
I also consult with startups, helping them to find the best way to build a successful business; I’ve got lots of experience in that area, having built my own business from scratch starting in late 2007.
